Space of the Mind

Just 15 minutes away by highway you can find the Space of the Mind. Inaugurated in 2015 by the Secretary of State for Culture it received, in 2016, along with Biological Park of Serra da Lousã, the Access Culture Integrated Prize, 1^st prize on social, intellectual and physical accessibility.

Installed on Biological Park of Serra da Lousã is an ethnographic ecomuseum that intends to originate a reflection about Men, based on “trinity” of body, mind and spirit. Its narrative goes from the appearing of life to the death of the person, evoking a demanding for freedom. The first is the freedom to love, and the last, for the soul. In this path the most common freedoms present: political, thinking, press, and religion freedom, amongst others.

The collection counts with an exhibition of representative pieces of art and traditional crafts, daily experiences from other times, and also the constitution of poles (rail, roads, cooperage, ecomuseum, …), in order to complement an active, attractive, and pedagogical museological strand, with a workshop and restaurant area.
