Universalist Ecumenical Temple

15 minutes away from the Hotel, by highway, there’s the Universalist Ecumenical Temple. Inaugurated on September 11th, 2016, it’s a Temple destined to spiritual reflection of people from different religions, also open to non-believers, that intends to promote the fundamental values of humanity and religions such as Truth, Kindness and Morals.

The Temple stresses tolerance and respect towards difference. It represents the Human creation by Homo Sapiens, inventor of spirituality, fraternity, and the seek for the truth.

The Temple is a monument dedicated to Peace that honors the victims of fundamentalism and religious intolerance.

It integrates an Observatory for Religions that provides the visitors with chronological facts and information of history and evolution seen from the perspective of the 15 most significant religious visions. It also offers a space dedicated to intolerance and conflicts based on religious difference.

We point out that the project Biological Park of Serra da Lousã / Universalist Temple was chose in 2014 to represent Portugal in UNESCO MADANJEE SINNGH International Prize for the promotion of tolerance and non-violence.
