Just a few minutes away from the historical ruins of Conímbriga, from the center of the renowned University of Coimbra and from the Shale Villages of Serra da Lousã, this unit becomes a unique place to develop historical, natural and gastronomical tourism.
The building’s foundation goes back to the 14th century. Kings and distinct members of European Nobility slept here. The building has been destroyed during French Revolution, and was built back up in the beginning of the 20th century. In 1993 it became “Pousada de Portugal”, and since 2019 it’s a charming 4 star hotel.
Gavius Restaurant & Bar
The most delicious courses from Regional Cuisine served with excellent national wines, wrapped up with a welcoming and qualified service. Located next to the garden, with a modern and gracious decoration, it has a very pleasant terrace with a wide view to the garden and a lot of natural light.
Charming and very cosy hotel, within an easy access secular building, just a few minutes from A1 highway yet very quiet, and close to many interesting historical points.
I enjoyed this Hotel. It mixes class, refinement and comfort, providing a very pleasant stay that makes us want to repeat more often and for longer periods.
